7 Lapel Pin Design Idea Generation Methods
Are You Looking For A Little Help With Your Lapel Pin Design?
Some people are naturally creative and find it very simple to come up with creative ideas for their business. Then there those that have never had a creative thought in their life. In fact, no matter how hard they try can not come up with a unique way to design their pins. Often they get frustrated and either give up or wind up settling for something less than what they were hoping for.
Where Do You Fit In The Pin Design Matrix?
Are you somewhere in the middle perhaps? Here are a few Ideas to help get the creative juices flowing:
1-Do you have a team of people that you can brainstorm with?
2- What about using your logo? Could that be interweaved into the theme?
3-Have you looked at your competition? Maybe you can get a few lapel pin ideas here. You can try to do something similar, or even better, maybe you can do something truly different. Try doing the exact opposite of the industry NORM. That will certainly help you to differentiate yourself and company from the competition.
4- Try looking at different industries to see how they are designing lapel pins. The legendary marketing genius, Jay Abraham, humbly points out that the majority of his marketing home runs were borrowed from OTHER industries. So, if you are a RETAILER why not see what the AWARENESS industry is doing. If you are a MANUFACTURER could you borrow something from the POLITICAL CAMPAIGN BUTTONS arena? The idea behind this is that if you stick with SAMENESS you are limiting your ability to be creative.
5- Is there a message you a trying to get across? How can you word it so that you could say it VERY SIMPLY and still get the message across? For example think about some of these slogans:
NIKE: “Just Do It”
Very simple, but memorable. Everyone associates this with their corporate brand, don’t they?
How about famous political pins?
Do you remember Dwight D. Eisenhower’s infamous, “I Like Ike” campaign pins?
Back in the 1970’s and 1980’s New York mayor, Ed Koch, had the phrase he originated, “How Am my Doing?” He was known for it everywhere and it graced many a lapel pin.
6- Look at what others have done in online pin galleries. Feel free to peruse our pictures on this website to get a useful idea.
